Two big Killtopia announcements (Dec 2023 update)
It's my last newsletter of 2023, and it's a doozy!
Happy Friday everyone, Dave here with my last newsletter of 2023 and I’m closing out the year on a high!
Let’s just get into it :D
1. The official Killtopia store has launched!
For the first time, I’m able to sell digital and physical copies of the entire Killtopia run on my own site - so today I’ve launched our official store with a tasty sale!
All five Killtopia books (print and digital) are discounted from now until December 31st, as well as copies of our spin-off prequel, BPM: Beatdowns Per Minute. There’s never been a better time to jump into our world of Neo Tokyo.
Check out the store on our new official site here.
2. A new Killtopia: Nano Jams contributor reveal!
Today I’ve announced the fourth wave of contributors to our Killtopia: Nano Jams short story anthology - which will hit Kickstarter in 2024.
The new reveals are: Steve Gregson, Gustaffo Vargas, Skylar Partridge, Laura Helsby, Clark Bint, Mark Abnett, Phoebe Hedges, Sophia Melocoton, Dan Whitehead and Jess Peng. You can find out more about them, see the full line up and get some all-new story teasers on our official Nano Jams page.
So far, the stories include a new craze of mind-controlled video games, an Amazon Alexa with a god complex, a sadistic version of Pokemon Go, tech that brings your loved ones back from the dead (for a high price!) and a social influencer who makes a deal with the devil.
Here’s the full roster, with many more to be revealed in 2024:
3. Lastly: My run ‘n’ gun video game history book is done!
After almost two years of work, the writing and editing part of my run ‘n’ gun shooter history book is finished! I’ve seen the whole book now and it’s looking wonderful, and just wait until you see the cover for this one :O
Keep an eye out on the Bitmap Books site and social channels for an official reveal and release date announcement in the new year. All that’s left for the Bitmap team is to proofread the whole thing one more time, do some final design work and more.
This is the biggest writing project I’ve ever done and I’m so proud of it. If you’re a gamer, you’re going to love what’s in store.
Signing off…
What a wild year it’s been - full of positive highs and stressful lows, but as always your support has kept me doing this. Whether you’ve subscribed to this newsletter, backed a social comment, left us a nice comment on our work, or just liked a post me or the team has put out - it is all so very much appreciated.
I may be slowing down on Kickstarters next year, but there are still so many great stories and projects I’m yet to announce. I can’t wait to share them with you in 2024.
So until then, plesase take care, have a great holiday season and a wonderful new year.
All the best,
Dave
I'm so glad you launched a store, I have the first three but missed out on 4 and 5, so I'm going to grab those at some point soon. I'm looking forward to both the anthology and your Run n' Gun book also, can't wait for those.
Also glad to hear that you're ending the year on a high note. You deserve it!
Oh well, there goes my Doritos funds lol, time to get some comics!
